How Blooming Creative Grew

I’m also a farmer and a creative — and that’s how Blooming Creative was born.

From my flower farm in Central Otago, I grow seasonal blooms for weddings, events, and everyday moments. What started as a love for colour and design has flourished into Blooming Creative Floral — where every stem is nurtured with care, and every arrangement tells a story.
Whether it’s a handcrafted bouquet, bespoke wedding floristry, or a pick-your-own experience on the farm, I believe flowers have a way of bringing people together and marking life’s moments beautifully.

Then there’s the events side — Blooming Creative Events — where I bring my storytelling, organisational, and creative skills together to craft celebrations that are personal, purposeful, and unforgettable.
As a registered marriage celebrant and event organiser, I create spaces where connection thrives — whether it’s an intimate wedding, a seasonal market, or a workshop that brings people together in meaningful ways.

The Blooming Creative Philosophy

Running a flower farm has taught me that growth — in business and in life — doesn’t happen by chance.
It happens through intention, preparation, and care.

Strong foundations make all the difference. On the flower farm, it’s the well-prepared garden beds, enriched soil, windbreaks, and irrigation — all in place before a seed is even planted.
In business, it’s strategy and structure: understanding your market, planning your year, and building systems that support sustainable growth.

Then comes the doing — nurturing seedlings, managing succession planting, fertilising, harvesting, arranging, and selling.

On the farm, that’s tracking bloom performance, pest management, and roadside stall sales.
